Resound and Capcon Connect

The digital divide presents serious challenges for rural America, with federal grants now spurring infrastructure investment by ISPs, utility companies, and entrepreneurs to serve underserved communities.

Resound Networks, founded in a Pampa, Texas garage, dedicated itself to providing reliable internet to underserved areas. Federal grants enabled exponential growth, including a single $303 million award during their expansion across seven states.

Directors Dennis Durden (Outside Plant Construction) and Chris Vainrib (RF Engineering & Transport), both with military networking experience, needed solutions for sourcing connectivity in remote markets. They met Capcon Networks at a 2023 industry event in Florida.

Resound Builds, Capcon Connects

Resound faced challenges identifying diverse carriers, ensuring capacity availability, and obtaining budgetary pricing across new markets. Capcon Networks solved these issues through carrier-agnostic procurement and consultation.

Full Steam Ahead

Capcon provided single-point management across multiple carriers, reducing complexity and support overhead.

Capcon Versus the Competition

Capcon's provisioning team dramatically reduced circuit activation timelines.

“Dealing with Capcon versus directly with carriers, the time from order to circuit activation has improved dramatically. We regularly saw turn-up times from 320-330 days, and since we started working with Capcon that time has been reduced to about 45 days!” Dennis says.

Looking Ahead

Resound must connect a minimum of 250,000 homes by the end of 2028 under a single grant mandate, with multiple additional grant obligations. Capcon will continue enabling turnkey connectivity solutions and ongoing provisioning support.
